Within a day of flydubai flight FZ1073 making an emergency landing in Tabuk, Iran's press had turned it into a story about Israel's presence in the Gulf. The papers framed it as an Israeli false flag, as proof that Israelis are unsafe anywhere and as the sequel to Netanyahu's September 28 visit to Abu Dhabi. An IRGC-aligned agency published a pre-emptive denial before any investigator had spoken. Iranian officials said nothing about the flight and aimed their warnings at the UAE as Israel's host, with Saudi Arabia now drawn into the same frame.
